William Vacchiano was a legend in the brass world for over 70 years - for 31 of those he sat in the principal trumpet chair of the New York Philharmonic Orchestra. Sadly, he passed away aged 93, in September 2005. He was a natural teacher and mentor - inspiring many of his students to achieve successful performing careers of their own around the globe.
